About the Kadar Family Award

The Kadar Family Award for Outstanding Research at Tel Aviv University, inaugurated in 2015, celebrates pioneering scientists and scholars who have reached the highest levels of excellence in both research and teaching. For the past six years the Award has been granted annually to four TAU researchers,  two senior and two junior faculty members, from across the entire spectrum of faculties and disciplines on the TAU campus.

The Award was inaugurated in 2015 by educator and TAU alumnus Dr. Avraham Kadar. Each year, the winners present their work at the Assembly of the TAU Board of Governors Meeting, and give personal presentations reflecting the course of his or her academic career and demonstrating the impact of the Kadar Award.  In addition to funding for their continued research and scholarship, they also receive presentation coaching and create short videos with details of their work.

“There is no doubt that the greatest honor is to be recognized at home, at TAU.” - Prof. Gazit, one of the first recipients of the award.
